Course Description

This Ethics & Professionalism course, approved by the Medical Board of California, is designed for medical and legal professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and attorneys. This course employs various teaching methods, including lectures, case studies, and discussions, to provide a comprehensive understanding of medical ethics and professionalism. It covers fundamental ethical principles, differentiates ethics from legal matters, addresses consequences of unethical behavior, and explores ethical issues in patient care, including confidentiality, informed consent, and end-of-life considerations. Additionally, it examines interprofessional relationships, healthcare financing ethics, and medical professionalism, ensuing participants leave with a comprehensive grasp of ethical principles in healthcare delivery.
